Tuesday, February 22, 2000

The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Peter Adams, Bonnie Brown, Paul Crête, Libby Davies, Jean Dubé, John Godfrey, Dale Johnston, Judi Longfield, Rey Pagtakhan, Judy Sgro and Bryon Wilfert.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Researchers.

On motion of Diane Ablonczy, it was moved, -- That to satisfy ourselves and thereby the House and Canadians that HRDC Grants and Contributions program spending meets reasonnable and prudent requirements too safegard and control, delivers demonstrated and measurable value in relation to public monies spent and meets high standards of transparency and accountability.

And debate arising thereon.

At 11:30 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
