Monday, November 15, 1999

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in a televised session at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, John Duncan, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, Claude Drouin, John Duncan, Bill Gilmour, Bill Matthews, Lou Sekora.

Acting Member(s) present: Rick Laliberté for Peter Stoffer; Rose-Marie Ur for Paul Steckle.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Witness: As Individual: Chris Harvey, Lawyer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), study on the implications of the September 17th, 1999 Supreme Court decision on R. v. Marshall on the Management of fisheries in the Atlantic Region.

The witness made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:38 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
