The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met without recording at 9:05 a.m. this day, at the Sheraton Four Points in Nanaimo, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Carmen Provenzano, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee resumed its study on Aquaculture.

Witness(es): From the Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Don Radford, Director, Fisheries Management; Laura Richards, A/Regional Director of Science; Dorothy Kieser; Ron Kehl; Wilf Leudke; Dr. Don Noakes. From the Green Urchin Association: Jim Dyck; Michael Callow. From the B.C. Fisheries Survival Coalition: Phillip Eidsvik, Executive Director; Stewart McDonald.

 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
