MINUTES OF PROCEEDING
Meeting No 7


TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1997

The Standing Committee on Transport met in camera at 3:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Ray Bonin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Roy Bailey, Ray Bonin, Murray Calder, Roy Cullen, Bev Desjarlais, Claude Drouin, Michel Guimond, Stan Keyes, Inky Mark, Paul Mercier, Lee Morrison and Carolyn Parrish.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Research Officer.

The Committee proceeded to consider a Draft Itinerary and a Draft Budget for its trip to Europe in relation to its study on National Passenger Rail System.

It was agreed, - That the draft itinerary of January 10 – 17, 1998 be adopted.

It was agreed, - That the proposed travel budget of $145,624.74 be adopted.

It was agreed, - That the Chair present it to the Subcommittee on Budget of the Liaison Committee for its approval.

It was agreed, - That the Chair seek authorization from the House for the Committee to travel to Europe between January 10 to 17, 1998 in relation to its study on the National Passenger Rail System.

At 4:30 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
