WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 8:15 o’clock a.m., this day, in the Gymnasium, Ouellette School, Bagotville, Quebec, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Judi Longfield, David Pratt and Pierrette Venne.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: Caroline Dion; Joan Simard; Joan Lajoie; Maj. Bernard Desgagné; Muriel Tremblay; Adj. Maître René Couturier; Capt. Yvon Martineau; Cpl. Julie Parent; Robert Boudreault; Sgt. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 12:05 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
