MINUTES OF PROCEEDING
(Meeting No. 25)

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 1998

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in room Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Art Hanger, Judi Longfield, John O’Reilly, David Pratt, David Price, George Proud and Bob Wood.

Acting Members present: John Harvard for John Richardson and Monique Guay for Maurice Godin.

Other Members present: Angela Vautour.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament
: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Union of National Defence Employees: Brian Molsberry, Vice-President, Manitoba/Saskatchewan; John MacLennan, Ex Vice President; Debbie Graham, Vice-President, Newfoundland.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

On motion of Bob Wood, it was agreed, - That the Committee pay for certain meal briefings with the base commanders from its travel budget.

 

Brian Molsberry made an opening statement and with the witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:07 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
