TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1997

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:33 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 269, West Block, the Chair, Robert Bertrand, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Hec Clouthier, Art Hanger, Judi Longfield, Pat O’Brien, John O’Reilly, David Pratt, David Price, Dick Proctor, John Richardson.

Acting Members present: Réal Ménard for Pierrette Venne.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Department of National Defence: Lieutenant-General D. Kinsman, Assistant Deputy Minister (Personnel).

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

Lieutenant-General D. Kinsman made opening statements and answered questions.

At 5:30 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
