Wednesday, May 6, 1998
The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul DeVillers, Derek Lee, Peter G. MacKay, John Maloney, Jack Ramsay et Andrew Telegdi.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst, Nancy Holmes, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Supreme Court of Canada: Anne Roland, Registrar; Louise Meagher, Deputy Registrar; Irene O'Connor, Director, Administrative Services.
The Committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference of Thursday, February 26, 1998, relating to the Main Estimates for 1998-99 (See Minutes of Proceedings, Monday, April 20, 1998, Meeting No.50).
By unanimous consent, the Chair called Vote 45, under JUSTICE.
Anne Roland made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 4:31, the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
