Tuesday, May 5, 1998
The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 9:08 p.m. this day, in Room 705, La Promenade, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eleni Bakopanos, Michel Bellehumeur, Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul DeVillers, Sheila Finestone, Paul E. Forseth, Derek Lee, John Maloney et John McKay.
In attendance: : From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst, Nancy Holmes, Research Officer.
Witnesses : From the Office of the Commissioner for Federal Judicial Affairs : Guy Goulard, Commissioner; Denis Guay, Deputy Commissioner.
The Committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference of Thursday, February 26, 1998, relating to the Main Estimates for 1998-99 (See Minutes of Proceedings, Monday, April 20, 1998, Meeting No.50).
By unanimous consent, the Chair called Votes 15 and 20, under JUSTICE.
Guy Goulard made a presentation and answered questions.
At 11:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
