MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1997
The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eleni Bakopanos, Michel Bellehumeur, Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul E. Forseth, Derek Lee, Peter G. MacKay, John Maloney et Jack Ramsay.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Department of Justice: Richard G. Mosley, Q.C., Assistant Deputy Minister, Criminal Law Policy and Community Justice Branch; Carolyn Saint-Denis, Senior Policy Analyst, Policy and Programs, Canadian Firearms Centre and William C. Bartlett, Legal Counsel, Canadian Firearms Centre.
The Committee resumed consideration of its Order of Reference dated Thursday, October 30, 1997, relating to draft Regulations on firearms. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Wednesday, November 19, 1997, meeting No. 7).
Richard Mosley made a statement and, with Carolyn Saint-Denis and William Bartlett, answered questions.
At 5:06 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
