Thursday, October 22, 1998

The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Antoine Dubé, Jim Jones, Francine Lalonde, Walt Lastewka, Ian Murray, Janko Peric, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.

Acting Member present: Deepak Obhrai for Jim Pankiw.

Other Member present: Tony Ianno.

In attendance: From Committees and Legislative Services: Richard Dupuis, Legislative Clerk. From the Library of Parliament: Nathalie Pothier and Antony Jackson, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of small business access to capital and bank loans. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Thursday, October 30, 1997, Meeting No. 6)

Kelly Shaughnessy, Anne Sutherland and Tim O'Neill each made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:59 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
