Tuesday, June 9th, 1998
The Standing Committee on Industry met in a televised session at 3:35 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 253-D of the Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Eugène Bellemare, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Bonnie Brown, Antoine Dubé, Marlene Jennings, Walt Lastewka, Ian Murray, Janko Peric, Werner Schmidt and Alex Shepherd.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Daniel Brassard and Nathalie Pothier, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Certified General Accountants' Association of Canada: Mike Fletcher, CGA, President and Chief Executive Officer, HighSpin Corporation.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Information Technology: Preparedness for the Year 2000.
Mike Fletcher made an opening statement and answered questions.
On the motion of Antoine Dubé, it was agreed,- That the CGA provide to the Committee an explanation of how its members are preparing for the year 2000.
At 4:43 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
