The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:22 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 362 EB, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Marlene Jennings, Jim Jones, Walt Lastewka, Eric Lowther, Ian Murray, Janko Peric, Werner Schmidt, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.
Acting Members present: Sarkis Assadourian for Bonnie Brown.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Daniel Brassard and Antony Jackson, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Cipher Systems: Jennifer McNeill; President. From Embedded Systems Sub-Committee: Ted Eedson, Co-chair; Ian Nunn, Co-Chair.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a study on Information Technology: Preparedness for Year 2000.
Jennifer McNeill, Ian Nunn and Ted Eedson each made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:20 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
