The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:06 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 701, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Antoine Dubé, Tony Ianno, Jim Jones, Francine Lalonde, Walt Lastewka, Eric Lowther, Jim Pankiw, Janko Peric, Werner Schmidt, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Daniel Brassard, Antony Jackson and Nathalie Pothier, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Treasury Board of Canada: Paul E. Rummell, Chief Information Officer; Grant Westcott, Member of the Senior ADM Review Team on Year 2000 Readiness. From de Jager & Company Limited: Peter de Jager.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on Information Technology: Preparedness for Year 2000.
Paul Rummell and Grant Westcott, from Treasury Board of Canada and Peter de Jager, each made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:00 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
