The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:04 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 269, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Antoine Dubé, Tony Ianno, Francine Lalonde, Walt Lastewka, Ian Murray, Jim Pankiw, Janko Peric, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.
Acting Members present: John Finlay for Marlene Jennings; John Herron for Jim Jones; John Maloney for Bonnie Brown.
Other Members present: John Solomon.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Daniel Brassard, Antony Jackson and Nathalie Pothier, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Industry Canada: Peter Sagar, Director, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Office.
Pursuant to an Order of Reference of the House dated, Monday, February 23, 1998, the Committee proceeded to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-21, an Act to amend the Small Business Loans Act.
On Clause 1
Peter Sagar made a statement and with the other witness, answered questions.
Clause 1 carried.
The Title carried
The Bill carried.
ORDERED: That the Chair report Bill C-21 to the House.
At 9:53 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
