The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:05 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 701, La Promenade, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Chris Axworthy, Antoine Dubé, Tony Ianno, Marlene Jennings, Walt Lastewka, Eric Lowther, Jim Pankiw, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: : Antony Jackson and Nathalie Pothier, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Crocus Investment Fund (Manitoba): Sherman Kreiner. From the Workers Investment Fund (New Brunswick): John McEwen. From the Workers Opportunity Fund (British Columbia: David Levi. From the First Ontario Fund (Ontario): Ken Delaney. From "Le fonds de Solidarité des Travailleurs du Québec" Raymond Bachand.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee proceeded to consideration of the subject matter on Labour Sponsored Venture Capital Funds.
Raymond Bachand and Sherman Kreiner each made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 11:13 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
