The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:07 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Vice-Chair, Eugène Bellemare, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Eugène Bellemare, Antoine Dubé, Rahim Jaffer, Marlene Jennings, Jim Jones, Stan Keyes, Francine Lalonde, Walt Lastewka, Ian Murray and Janko Peric.
Acting Member present: Dave Chatters for Eric Lowther.
Other Member present: Dan McTeague.

Pursuant to an Order of Reference of the House dated Tuesday, October 20, 1998, consideration of Bill C-235, An Act to amend the Competition Act (protection of those who purchase products from vertically integrated suppliers who compete with them at retail).
David Colville, Gord Waites, Timothy Denton and Bernard A. Courtois each made an opening statement and with the witnesses, answered questions.
At 10:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 10:49 a.m., the sitting resumed.
Fred Wade, Nick Jennery and Robert Morton each made an opening statement, and answered questions.
At 11:51 a.m., Dave Chatters took the Chair.
At 11:56 a.m., Eugène Bellemare took the Chair.
At 12:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
