The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in the Regency B Room of the Holiday Inn on King, Toronto, Ontario, Jerry Pickard, presiding.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its examination of Canada's trade objectives and the forthcoming agenda of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Canada's priority interests in the FTAA process.

At 9:08 a.m., the Chair, Bill Graham, took the Chair.

Nancy Hughes Anthony, Jim Keon, Michael Weingarten, Dan Gagnier, Donald Belch and Jacques Robitaille each made an opening statement and, with Milos Barutciski, answered questions.

At 10:46 a.m., Shirley-Ann George, David Hecnar, Eric Iankelovic and Peter Barnes each made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 11:38 a.m., Michelle Swenarchuk and Christine Elwell each made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 12:19 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:08 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Jacqueline Hushion, Michael McCabe, Glenn O'Farrell, Peter Grant, Jack Stoddart, John Thompson, Brian Chater, Grant Buchanan and Hamal Docter each made an opening statement and answered questions.
