The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Regency B Room of the Holiday Inn on King, in Toronto, Ontario, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its examination of Canada's trade objectives and the forthcoming agenda of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Canada's priority interests in the FTAA process. (See the Minutes of Proceedings, of October 22, 1998, Meeting no. 73).

Stephen Clarkson, Sylvia Ostry, John Kirton and Julie Soloway each made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 10:19 a.m., Robert White, Heino Nielsen, Larry Brown and Lawrence McBrearty each made an opening statement and, with Bob Dale, answered questions.

At 11:48 a.m., Simon Rosenblum made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 12:19 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:06 p.m., the sitting resumed.
