Thursday, March 12, 1998

The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-food met at 9:12 a.m, this day, in Room 269, West Block, Joe McGuire, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Jean-Guy Chrétien, Denis Coderre, John Harvard, Joe McGuire, Dick Proctor, Paul Steckle and Rose-Marie Ur.

Acting Members present: Rick Casson for Leon Benoit and Myron Thompson for Jay Hill.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch: Sonya Dakers, Research Coordinator.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded with an information session with the Managers of the Canadian Agriculture Lifetime Leadership Program (CALL).

Witnesses: From theCanadian Farm Business Management Council: Terry Murray, CALL President. From the University of Saskachewan – Extension Division: Scott McLean, CALL Program Manager and Members of the Program.

Terry Murray and Scott McLean made opening statements and, with some Members of the Program, answered questions from Members of the Committee.

At 10:07 a.m., the Committee proceeded to meet in camera, to consider its future business.

At 10:32 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
