Castle & Son, Registered

This Montreal company operated from 1881 to 1920, specializing in stained glass windows for 20 years before turning to cabinetmaking in the early 20th century. Examples of stained glass and furniture created by the company are found in the collection of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, including a large maple bed frame and a chest of drawers. Near the end of its operation, Castle & Son produced chairs for the Parliamentary Dining Room as well as various other furnishings, from sofas to sideboards, for Parliament’s newly rebuilt Centre Block.
