Minutes of Proceedings
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2020-21: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, L25 and L30 under Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, Vote 1 under International Development Research Centre, and Vote 1 under International Joint Commission (Canadian Section), referred to the committee on Monday, April 20, 2020, and on Wednesday, September 30, 2020; and
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, the committee proceeded to a briefing on the mandate of the Minister of International Development.
The Minister, with Leslie MacLean, Elissa Golberg, Caroline Leclerc, Peter MacDougall, Anick Ouellette and Shirley Carruthers answered questions.
At 5:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:40 p.m., the sitting resumed.
It was agreed, — That the work plan, regarding the study of the vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $6,500, for the study of the vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $750, for the study of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights on the human rights situation of the Uyghurs, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $825, for the briefing of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights on the current situation in Nigeria, be adopted.
At 5:45 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
