Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 20, 2020, the committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B), 2019-20: Vote 1b under Department of Public Works and Government Services, Votes 1b and 5b under Shared Services Canada and Vote 1b under Treasury Board Secretariat, referred to the committee on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

The Minister made a statement and, with Glenn Purves, answered questions.

At 9:42 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:46 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses answered questions.

At 10:28 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:30 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your subcommittee met on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of defence procurement with a focus on shipbuilding.

2. That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a review of the Red Tape Reduction Act and report its findings to the House before the end of June 2020.

3. That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), the committee undertake a study relating to the hiring process in the public service.

4. That, pursuant to Standing Orders 108(2) and 108(3)(c)(iii), the committee undertake a study of the hiring of veterans for public service positions.

5. That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), the committee undertake a study relating to the Greening of Government Strategy.

6. That the committee invite the Minister of Public Services and Procurement to provide a briefing on Phoenix.

7. That the committee invite the Minister of Public Services and Procurement to provide a briefing on Canada Post.

8. That the committee undertake a study of the Departmental Results Reports 2018-19.

9. That the committee undertake a study of the Main Estimates, 2020-21.

10. That the committee invite the Parliamentary Budget Officer to appear to provide a briefing on the Parliamentary Budget Officer’s Report on the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2019-20 and to discuss the Main Estimates, 2020-21.
