Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Thursday, October 4, 2018, the Subcommittee commenced its study of Yezidis, Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities in Iraq.

Abid Shamdeen, by videoconference from Washington, D.C., Susan Korah and Matthew Travis Barber made statements and answered questions.

At 1:56 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:57 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Committee Business
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That a draft news release entitled "Human Rights Situation of the Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims in Xinjiang, China", be approved.

At 2:06 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
