Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the subject matter of Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Indian Act (elimination of sex-based inequities in registration).

Joseph Tokwiro Norton, Ghislain Picard, by teleconference from Wendake, Quebec, Lynn Gehl and Viviane Michel made statements and, with Cynthia Smith, answered questions.

At 9:20 a.m., David Yurdiga took the Chair.

At 9:24 a.m., MaryAnn Mihychuk took the Chair.

At 9:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Sharon McIvor, Pamela D. Palmater, and Catherine Twinn made statements and, with Deborah Serafinchon, answered questions.
