Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on March 7, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Development of a National Pharmacare Program.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 10:15 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:23 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the Committee routine motion on staff and members attending in camera proceedings, adopted on February 3, 2016, Kamal Khera, M.P., be permitted to attend the in camera portion of the meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite Jean-Denis Fréchette, Parliamentary Budget Officer, to appear for one hour on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, in relation to the study of the development of a national Pharmacare program.

It was agreed, — That, regarding the updated draft workplan in relation to the study of the development of a national Pharmacare program, the seventh meeting be replaced by a meeting on constitutional issues in implementaing a national pharmacare program, and that the members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee, by Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 5 p.m., their prioritized lists of witnesses.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the development of a national Pharmacare program, a preliminary travel submission, identical to the one adopted by the Committee on June 13, 2016, be submitted to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

At 10:49 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
