Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, the Committee resumed its study of threats to liberal democracy in Europe.

Anne Applebaum, by videoconference from London, England, and Rafal Pankowski, by videoconference from Warsaw, Poland, made statements and answered questions.

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:47 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Daniel Ziblatt, by videoconference from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Michael Williams made statements.

At 10:05 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

Daniel Ziblatt and Michael Williams answered questions.

At 10:20 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
