Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, April 29, 2019, the Committee resumed its study of the subject matter of clauses 291 to 300 (Part 4, Division 15) (An Act respecting the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants) of Bill C-97, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 19, 2019 and other measures.

Louis-René Gagnon and Dory Jade made statements and, with Gerd Damitz, answered questions.

At 10:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:07 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Andrew Roman, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Alli Amlani and David LeBlanc made statements and answered questions.

At 11:01 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

On motion of Ramez Ayoub, it was agreed, — That, keeping with the spirit of 106(2), the Committee hereby appoints Nick Whalen as Acting Chair, who shall be vested with all the powers and authority of the Chair; this appointment shall expire on Friday, May 10, 2019; this appointment may be extended by the Committee by resolution; and the Clerk of the Committee shall advise the Clerk of the House of this resolution.

At 11:57 a.m., Nick Whalen took the Chair.

At 11:58 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
