Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, September 18, 2018, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-79, An Act to implement the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership between Canada, Australia, Brunei, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

Bruce Christie answered questions.

The Committee resumed its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.

The Committee reverted to the consideration of Clause 12 previously stood.

Tracey Ramsey moved, — That Bill C-79, in Clause 12, be amended by adding after line 7 on page 5 the following:

“(2) As soon as feasible, but in any case within three months after the end of each year, the Minister must cause to be laid before each House of Parliament a report setting out the amount paid in accordance with subsection (1) during that year.”

Debate arose thereon.

Dean Allison moved, — That the amendment be amended by adding, after the word “paid”, the words “by the Government of Canada”.

After debate, the question was put on the subamendment of Dean Allison and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
