The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Tarik Brahmi, Brad Butt, Greg Kerr, Guy Lauzon, Pat Martin, Mathieu Ravignat, Chris Warkentin and Wai Young.

Acting Members present: Hon. Mauril Bélanger for Hon. Gerry Byrne.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: André Léonard, Analyst.

Witnesses: ULC Standards and Underwriters Laboratories of Canada: Graham Rae Dulmage, Director, Standards Department, Government Relations Office and External Affairs. Bureau de normalisation du Québec: Jean Rousseau, Senior Director. Standards Council of Canada: Michel Girard, Vice President, Strategy; Véronique de Passillé, Director, Government Engagement.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(i) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, May 5, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of the programs and activities of the Canadian General Standards Board.

Graham Rae Dulmage and Jean Rousseau made statements and answered questions.

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:06 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Michel Girard made a statement and answered questions.

At 12;21 p.m., Greg Kerr took the Chair.

At 12:31 p.m., Pat Martin took the Chair.

At 12:56 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
