The Standing Committee on Health met at 8:47 a.m. this day, in Room 306 La Promenade Building, the Chair, Ben Lobb, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Libby Davies, Claude Gravelle, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Dany Morin, David Wilks and Terence Young.

Acting Members present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett for Hon. Hedy Fry, Patricia Davidson for Eve Adams, Kirsty Duncan for Hon. Hedy Fry and Robert Sopuck for James Lunney.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Karin Phillips, Analyst.

Witnesses: As individuals: Tony P. George, Professor of Psychiatry, University of Toronto; Bernard Le Foll, Professor, University of Toronto. Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada: Fleur-Ange Lefebvre, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. As an individual: Romina Mizrahi, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, University of Toronto. Federation of Medical Regulatory Authorities of Canada: Trevor Theman, President-Elect.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of marijuana's health risks and harms.

Trevor Theman, by teleconference from Edmonton, Alberta, and Bernard Le Foll, Romina Mizrahi and Tony P. George, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and, with Fleur-Ange Lefebvre, answered questions.

At 10:08 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
