The Standing Committee on Official Languages met in camera at 9:07 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Steven Blaney, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Steven Blaney, Sylvie Boucher, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Jean-Claude D'Amours, Monique Guay, Richard Nadeau, Tilly O'Neill-Gordon, Pablo Rodriguez and Lise Zarac.

 

Acting Members present: Dean Allison for Shelly Glover and Claude Gravelle for Yvon Godin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst; Nicolas Auclair, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of the impacts of the delays in providing funding to beneficiary organizations from the Department of Canadian Heritage.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "The Impact of Approval and Payment Delays on Department of Canadian Heritage Recipient Organizations".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and / or supplementary opinions from any Party provided that they are no more than four (4) pages in length and submitted electronically to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 4 p.m., on Thursday, November 26, 2009, in both official languages.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Chair of the Committee send a letter to Camille Therriault-Power, from the Canada Border Services Agency, who appeared before the Committee on October 20, 2009, to remind her to follow up a specific file with Jean-Claude D’Amours, Committee Member.

 

At 9:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
