The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Bob Dechert, Jean-Yves Laforest, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Ted Menzies, Massimo Pacetti, James Rajotte and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Pat Martin for Thomas J. Mulcair, Jean-Yves Roy for Robert Carrier and Bruce Stanton for Mike Wallace.

 

Associate Members present: Harold Albrecht and Martha Hall Findlay.

Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations 2009.
 

Natalie Bull, Ruth MacKenzie, Ray Pekrul, Bernard Lord, Michael Roschlau, Sailesh Thaker, Steve Masnyk and Michael Toye made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Moira Grant, Marlon Lewis and Sophie Pierre made statements.

 

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Karen Cohen, Iain Klugman, Dennis Howlett and Denise Doherty-Delorme made statements and, with Moira Grant, Marlon Lewis, Sophie Pierre and Pamela Fralick, answered questions.

 

On motion of Mike Wallace, it was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on February 3, 2009, a maximum of 10 minutes be allowed each party for the questioning of witnesses following their presentations.

 

At 7:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
