The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 308 West Block, the Chair, Massimo Pacetti, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rona Ambrose, Don H. Bell, Charles Hubbard, Yvan Loubier, John McKay, Maria Minna, Massimo Pacetti, Brian Pallister, Charlie Penson and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

Acting Members present: Larry Bagnell for Charles Hubbard, Leon E. Benoit for Monte Solberg, Robert Bouchard for Guy Côté, Roy Cullen for John McKay and Rodger Cuzner for Don H. Bell.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: James Hood, Principal; Andrew Lennox, Assistant Auditor General; Douglas Timmins, Assistant Auditor General; Basil Zafiriou, Principal.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of chapter 6 (Canada Revenue Agency-Resolving Disputes and Encouraging Voluntary Disclosures) of the 2004 Report of the Auditor General of Canada to the House of Commons.
 

Andrew Lennox and James Hood made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:38 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of chapter 2 (Implementation of the National Initiative to Combat Money Laundering) of the Report of the Auditor General of Canada to the House of Commons.
 

Douglas Timmins and Basil Zafiriou made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:46 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded, in camera, to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
