The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met in camera at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 269 West Block, the Chair, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Sue Barnes, Bernard Cleary, Jeremy Harrison, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Gary Lunn, Pat Martin, Jim Prentice, Carol Skelton, David Smith, Lloyd St. Amand and Roger Valley.

 

Acting Members present: Claude Bachand for André Bellavance.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mary Hurley, Analyst; Marlisa Tiedemann, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $93,950.00, for the period of November 2, 2004 to March 31, 2005, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Liaison Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invites the Kanesatake Grand Chief, James Gabriel, to testify as soon as possible to review the situation of the elections.

 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted on October 19, 2004 during questioning of witnesses, order of questioning between opposition parties for the second and third round begins with Conservative Party, followed by the Bloc Québécois and the New Democratic Party (and that alternance between Government and Opposition parties continue) .

 

At 10:20 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
