The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:35 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Maurizio Bevilacqua, Roy Cullen, Roger Gallaway, Albina Guarnieri, Sophia Leung, John McCallum, Joe Peschisolido, Pauline Picard and Gary Pillitteri.
Acting Member present: Raymond Bonin for Nick Discepola.
In attendance: From the Legislative Services: Susan Baldwin and Philippe Méla, Legislative Clerks. From the Library of Parliament: Marc-André Pigeon and Blayne Haggart, Researchers. From Committees and Associations Directorate: Mike MacPherson, Committee Clerk.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-13, An Act to amend the Excise Tax Act (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, March 27, 2001, Meeting No. 8).
The Committee proceeded to Clause-by-Clause consideration of the Bill.
Clause 1 stood.
Clause 2 and 33 carried, severally.
Clause 1 carried.
The Title carried.
The Bill carried.
ORDERED, -- That the Chair report Bill C-13, An Act to amend the Excise Tax Act, to the House as the Second Report of the Committee.
At 9:40 a.m., the Committee proceeded to consider its future business.
It was agreed, -- That the Committee hold a roundtable of economists on inflation targets and the Canadian dollar before the appearance before the Committee of the Governor of the Bank of Canada.
It was agreed, -- That the Committee hold a roundtable of business leaders before the appearance before the Committee of the Governor of the Bank of Canada.
At 9:44 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
