The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:15 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jean Augustine, Aileen Carroll, Bill Graham, Marlene Jennings, Francine Lalonde, Diane Marleau, Brian Pallister, Bernard Patry.
In attendance: From theParliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the University of British Columbia: Wesley Pue, Professor of Law. As Individual: Scott Fairley, Lawyer, International Business Lawyers.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Tuesday, October 23, 2001, the
Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-35, An Act to amend the Foreign
Missions and International Organizations Act (See Minutes of Proceedings,
Tuesday, October 30, 2001, Meeting No. 37).
The Committee resumed consideration of Clause 1.
Wesley Pue and Scott Fairley each made an opening statements and answered questions.
At 11:09 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
