Tabling of documents

Pursuant to Standing Order 32(2), Mr. Milliken (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons) laid upon the Table, -- Government responses, pursuant to Standing Order 36(8), to the following petitions:

Mr. Mifflin (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Defence) laid upon the Table, -- Document entitled ``Report of the Special Commission on the Restructuring of the Reserves''. -- Sessional Paper No. 8530-351-41.

The House resumed consideration of the motion of Mr. Dingwall (Minister of Public Works and Government Services), seconded by Mr. Gagliano (Secretary of State (Parliamentary Affairs) and Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), -- That Bill C-108, An Act to amend the National Housing Act, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Government Operations.

The House resumed consideration of the motion of Mr. Finlay (Oxford), seconded by Mr. Taylor (The Battlefords -- Meadow Lake), -- That Bill C-339, An Act to provide for funding for intervenors in hearings before certain boards and agencies, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Natural Resources.

The debate continued.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on division.

Accordingly, the Bill was read the second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Natural Resources.

MESSAGES FROM THE SENATE

Messages were received from the Senate as follows:

    ORDERED: That a Message be sent to the House of Commons to acquaint that House that the Senate has passed Bill C-71, An Act to amend the Explosives Act, without amendment.
    ORDERED: That the Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages be authorized to examine the expenditures set out in Privy Council Vote 25a of Supplementary Estimates (A) for the fiscal year ending the 31st March, 1996.
