Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motions adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 22, 2022, and Tuesday, February 14, 2023, the committee commenced its study of support for the commercialization of intellectual property.

Mike McLean and Louis-Félix Binette made statements and answered questions.

At 11:59 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

Jeffrey Taylor made a statement and, with Anna Toneguzzo, answered questions.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 12:48 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

On motion of Chad Collins, it was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $2,550, for the study of international moonshot programs, be adopted.

On motion of Valerie Bradford, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of big science in Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $89,050.55, for the committee’s travel to Kelowna, Penticton, Kaleden and Vancouver, British Columbia, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Toronto, Sudbury, Lively and Chalk River, Ontario in the Spring of 2023, be adopted.

At 12:57 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
