Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, January 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the North Atlantic right whale.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the routine motion on linguistic review adopted by the committee on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the document submitted by Robert Haché be distributed to the members of the committee.

Robert Haché, Daniel Fleck, Shawn Muise and Heather Mulock made statements and answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Martin Mallet and Jean Côté made statements and, with Mathieu Noël, answered questions.

The Chair informed the committee of the resignation of Rick Perkins as Vice-Chair.

Accordingly, pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of a vice-chair.


On motion of Rick Perkins, it was agreed, — That Mel Arnold be elected First Vice-Chair of the committee.

At 5:39 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
