Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, February 8, 2023, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-282, An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act (supply management).

Tim Carroll, Keith Currie, Gyslain Loyer, Roger Pelissero, Cathy Jo Noble, James Bekkering and Lisa MacNeil made statements and, with Emmanuel Destrijker, answered questions.

At 12:45 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:49 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development be invited to appear before the committee on Monday, March 27, 2023, for one hour regarding the committee’s study on environmental and human rights considerations regarding Canadian mining firms abroad and one hour on the Main Estimates 2023-24.

It was agreed, — That amendments regarding Bill C-282, An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act (supply management), be submitted by Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 4 p.m. and that the committee commence its clause-by-clause consideration of the Bill on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

At 12:59 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
