Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, October 22, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Valerie Percival, François Audet and Thomas Bollyky made statements and answered questions.

At 4:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:26 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Idee Inyangudor and Ruby Dagher made statements and answered questions.

At 5:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:22 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That members send witness lists for the second segment of the study of the vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic to the clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2020.

It was agreed, — That the analysts prepare an interim report for the study of the vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Vice-Chairs and Member of the NDP be authorized to approve the outline for the study of arms export permits.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $1,375, for the study of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights on the recognition of international human rights champions, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $725, for the briefing of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights on the current situation in Cameroon, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $725, for the briefing of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights on the current situation in Ethiopia, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $2,650, for the study of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights on the impact of COVID-19 on displaced persons, with a focus on displaced persons from Venezuela and Myanmar, be adopted.

At 5:45 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
