Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, the committee resumed its study of the Economic imperative and long-term importance for small rural municipalities outside of major cities to retain new immigrants.

Denise Amyot, Mark Frison, Martine Groulx and Bruno Magnan made statements and answered questions.

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:33 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, the committee resumed its study of the Economic imperative and long-term importance for small rural municipalities outside of major cities to retain new immigrants.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

It was agreed, — that, regarding the study of the economic imperative and long-term importance for small rural municipalities outside of major cities to retain new immigrants, the clerk of the committee transmit a letter by the Chair on behalf of the committee to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $2,750, for the study of Economic imperative and long-term importance for small rural municipalities outside of major cities to retain new immigrants, be adopted.

At 5:52 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
