The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

The Chair presented the Second Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows:

Your subcommittee met on Thursday, February 27, 2020, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

That the committee meet on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 with respect to its study of the Indigenous crisis in Quebec and Canada; that the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs and Minister of Indigenous Services be invited to appear before the committee from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; that each represented party on the committee submit the name of a witness to invite before the committee from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and that the committee meet from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to discuss future business of the committee.

It was agreed, — That the Second Report from the subcommittee be concurred in.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the first panel be extended by 10 minutes.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 27, 2020, the committee commenced its study of the Indigenous crisis in Quebec and Canada.

The ministers made statements and answered questions.

At 12:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:21 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 1:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:28 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Gary Anandasangaree moved, — That the committee suspend its study of the Indigenous crisis in Quebec and Canada and that the committee pursue its consideration of its study of food security in northern communities.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 5.

At 1:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
