Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the Subcommittee resumed its study of women human rights defenders.

The Subcommittee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Raising Her Voice: Confronting the Unique Challenges Facing Women Human Rights Defenders".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Subcommittee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That in addition to Members and Senators, the media and human rights organizations identified by the Subcommittee would be invited to the Speaker's reception to honour human rights champions on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

ORDERED, — That the clerk and analysts prepare a media advisory and press release for the study of the recognition of international human rights champions.

It was agreed, — That mention of the imminent tabling of the women human rights defenders report be made in the news release for the recognition of international human rights champion.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee would sit from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019, to receive a briefing on the human rights situation in Syria for an hour, and briefing on the human rights situation in Cameroon for one hour.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee would undertake a briefing on the global human rights situation of Christians on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That for the briefing on the human rights situation in Iran, unanimous consent would be required to publish the briefs received to the Subcommittee website.

It was agreed, — That Members submit witness lists to the Clerk of the Subcommittee for the briefing on the human rights situation in Syria, the briefing on the human rights situation in Cameroon, and the briefing on the global human rights situation of Christians, by Monday, June 3, 2019; and that the witness list be compiled and circulated to Members and staff by the Clerk of the Subcommittee.

It was agreed, — That Members have until Tuesday, June 4, 2019, to raise an objection to the listed witnesses.

At 2:00 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
