Pursuant to Standing Order 111.1(1), the Committee commenced consideration of the certificate of nomination of Stéphane Perrault to the position of Chief Electoral Officer, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the number of Members present, the provisions for reduced quorum when receiving evidence shall apply at the meeting of Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

The witness made a statement and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That Members of the Committee be allowed to share with their caucus the content of the confidential report of the Subcommittee on the Code of Conduct for Members of the House of Commons: Sexual Harassment.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite all Members of the House of Commons who are not members of a recognized party to a confidential and in camera briefing concerning the content of the confidential report of the Subcommittee on the Code of Conduct for Members of the House of Commons: Sexual Harassment; and that the briefing be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That, during the second hour of the meeting on Thursday, May 24, 2018, the Committee consider the draft report in relation to its study of the use of Indigenous languages in proceedings of the House of Commons.

At 12:07 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
