Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, June 15, 2017, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-51, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Department of Justice Act and to make consequential amendments to another Act.

Hilla Kerner, Laurelly Dale, Carissima Mathen and Elizabeth Sheehy made statements and answered questions.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Amanda Dale, Deepa Mattoo, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Jeremy Dias and Karen Segal, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and, with Lise Gotell, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 5:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:23 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Janine Benedet and Emma Cunliffe made statements and answered questions.

At 8:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
