Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 11, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of proposals for a Miscellaneous Statute Law Amendment, 2017.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite Kathleen Roussel to appear for consideration for appointment as Director of Public Prosecutions on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

At 3:41 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:43 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Mala Khanna, Jean-Charles Bélanger, Jacqueline Yost, Mélanie Beaudoin and Jane Weldon answered questions.

At 3:51 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the Committee has studied the Proposals for a Miscellaneous Statute Law Amendment Act, 2017, and recommends that clauses 40 and 47 not be included.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

At 4:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
