Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing on broadband connectivity in rural Canada.

Pamela Miller, Sue Hart and Christopher Seidl made statements and, with Luc Delorme, answered questions.

At 10:03 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:07 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held upon presentation of the Committee's report to the House on the manufacturing sector; and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of intellectual property and technology transfer, the analysts and the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to intellectual property and technology transfer, individuals and organizations be invited to submit briefs to the Committee, provided that they do not exceed ten pages.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to the motion adopted on Monday, October 31, 2016, the Committee commence its study of intellectual property and technology transfer on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

At 10:51 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
