Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee proceeded to a briefing with the Métis National Council.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee proceeded a briefing with the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples.

National Association of Friendship Centres

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee proceeded to a briefing with the National Association of Friendship Centres.

Christopher Sheppard and Dwight A. Dorey made statements and, with Jeffrey Cyr, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Charlie Angus moved, — That the Committee undertake a study of the state of the health emergency declared in communities of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and the Mushkegowuk Council regions; that the Community leaders of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation, the Mushkegowuk Council, and Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day be invited to appear; and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

Debate arose thereon.

Motion

Mike Bossio moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

By unanimous consent, the motion was withdrawn.

The question: "That the Committee undertake a study of the state of the health emergency declared in communities of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation and the Mushkegowuk Council regions; that the Community leaders of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation, the Mushkegowuk Council, and Ontario Regional Chief Isadore Day be invited to appear; and that the Committee report its findings to the House" was put and was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 5; NAYS: 3.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed briefings with the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples and with the National Association of Friendship Centres.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:44 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
